So Proud of Himself!

Tyler has really not liked being on his tummy since we brought him home from the hospital. It is so hard to try to get him to do tummy time because he usually just cries; today was different. Tyler held his head up high and proud this morning. He laughed about it and had so much looking into the mirror that I was holding. YAY TYLER, you're getting so strong!

I Have Been Tagged: Survey

Tagged

1. Where did you meet your husband? We met playing soccer on a Monday night in July, 2005. He thought I was someone he already knew, I thought he was cute.

2. What is the first thing you said to your husband? He said, "Have I met you?" I said, "No". We talked golf most of the rest of the night; I had just gotten back from golf school in San Diego with my mom and stepbrother and Jeff lives to play.

3. Where was your first date? We went to the driving range and I blew him away! :)

4. Where was your first kiss? After our second date, we went to dinner and a movie.

5. Did you have a long or short courtship/engagement? Uhm... crazy fast. We are lucky that it worked and that we have so much fun together because we were NUTS looking back. We Dated for 3 months, were engaged for 1 month and have been married for almost 2 years.

6. Where did you get engaged? This was RAD. Jeff asked me to meet him at his house instead of picking me up for our date and I was annoyed by that. I went to his house and he wasn't even home! There was a limo in the driveway and a driver came out of the car and handed me a letter from Jeff telling me he was running late and the driver would take me to him. We drove and drove and drove up the B-line to the middle of nowhere in the desert and the driver pulls off the side of the road and lets me out. He drives away and then out of the desert hills Jeff comes down on a quad and I hopped on the back. We drove out into the hills of the desert and got to a little table just before the sun set. He wrote a poem for me and read it, asked me to marry him, and then we danced. Jeff's roommates came out of nowhere and served us dinner by candle light. It was perfect!

7. Where did you get married? Waikiki!

8. How did your reception go? It was eventful : )

9. THE HONEYMOON....It was so fun! We flew from Oahu to Kaui and had the time of our lives. We did all the fun Hawaii stuff there is to do!

10. Who's turn is it next? Lindsey, Shelby, Courtney.

The Wonderful BUMBO!!

So dinner time in our family has been a challenge! Any time we sit to eat, even if Tyler has already eaten, he cries. He wants to sit with us, eat what we eat, and be a big boy; he frustrates himself sitting in his baby bouncer on the floor. We decided to try the bumbo seat and Tyler is so happy. He feels like a big boy and can sit with us all on his own and not in mom's lap. He has had a lot of fun in this new seat.

Bigger and Better Things!

Every day it seems like Tyler is trying new things. He turned 3 months old yesterday and I swear he knew it was a mile stone day because he wanted to do so much. I put Tyler in the baby bjorn and stood in front of the bathroom mirror. He was so fascinated with himself that he kept standing up and laughing at his reflection. It was so neat for him to feel like he was standing all by himself so I hung up the bungee jumper that Jeff's parents got him and let him give it a whirl. Tyler LOVED that thing.
This was right before he bounced and spun himself sick and threw up!

Jennifer Lynn O'Hare: March 3, 1979 - September 10, 1999

Today is a hard day for my mom, me, and a few close friends. My sister was killed in a car accident 8 years ago today, September 10, 1999 at 11:06 am. As the years have passed this day still brings back every gut wrenching feeling that I had on that day and the painful memories flood through my mind. There are so many people in my life now who never had the chance to meet Jen and sometimes that makes it hard to share all of my memories of her. Today I decided that the whole world needed to know that on this day eight years ago, they lost one of the most incredible people who ever lived.

Jen was the BEST sister, the best friend, the best daughter; if you were in the same room with her you HAD to meet that girl. She was beautiful on the outside, but on the inside Jen was so much more than beautiful. She cared about people, she stuck up for people, she backed up her friends, and she always stood by my side. I always wanted to be just like her. She had the greatest friends and the best boyfriend, she had a wonderful relationship with my mom, she was independent and always had fun. Words cannot even come close to describing the amazing way Jen made you feel just being around her.

I am thankful for my sister's life. I am lucky that we are sisters.
Those of you that knew her, post some memories of Jen on the comments, I LOVE hearing Jen stories. I love my sister and I miss her every second of every day; I know when I see her again it will be the best reunion I will ever have.

Another Trip!

Tyler and I went to spend the week with my mom in California again. We had a lot of fun. We spent a lot of time outside enjoying the beautiful weather, jogging, and out by the pool.

Tyler LOVES his jogging stroller. We did most of our jogging on a paved bike trail... the first mile and a half is uphill!! Usually my mom pushes the stroller... I did it for the first time, and let me tell you, pushing that kid up hill for a mile and half is HARD work; the mile and half on the way back seems so easy. We also went running at Cronan ranch, about 1,400 sq/miles of land with horse trails. Jenny Wolf and I ran our hearts out for 3 miles on these hills that kicked our butts, my mom pushed Tyler on the run... she is incredible.

The trip was a lot of fun.

Tyler relaxing by the pool at my parents' house.

Holding Stuff!

Last Monday night we went to Steve and Marianne's house and Tyler held an object in his hand for the first time! We have a picture of him doing it again last week with my mom... he's holding a pack of sugar.

His First Habit

Tyler is a thumb sucker!! I swore I would never give him a pacifier, but I'd rather him suck on one of those than his thumb. So, I caved and have been trying to give him the pacifier... but NOW... He pulls the dang thing out and shoves his thumb in his mouth. It is the funniest thing; once he gets that thumb in he is the happiest kid in the world. He looks so proud and makes so much noise sucking away. It seems like every time I turn my head he's looking for that thing!

Camping!

Yes, we ventured out with out two and a half month old baby to Bear Canyon Lake to go camping! It was a fun trip with our ward, there were over one hundred people in attendance. Tyler was a trooper, he slept most of the trip.
